SP Texture Coating is a high-performance ceramic and acrylic blend with lightweight aggregate added for texture. It is designed for exterior walls that need a durable, decorative textured finish that breathes — unlike standard stucco, which traps moisture against the substrate.
Super Therm® uses four engineered ceramic compounds, each targeting a different part of the solar spectrum:
blocks ultraviolet radiation
blocks visible solar energy
blocks IR radiation (the dominant heat carrier)
releases any absorbed heat efficiently
The ceramics are ground to microscopic spheres, producing a smooth finish that looks more like paint than insulation – but functions completely differently.

peak demand cut 86% (3,764 → 519 kW in May); 13-month payback. Subsequently specified for a new 700,000 sq ft facility in Malaysia.
coated NGL spherical tanks ran ~15°C cooler than uncoated tanks (35.1°C vs. 50.9°C in 32°C ambient), reducing flaring from internal pressure.
uninsulated metal building coated with Super Therm® held an 85°F interior through 111–113°F desert heat with AC off, with 60 people inside and doors open.
all 39 tanks (30,000 KL) at the Hokko Terminal coated; cooling efficiency improved 20%, VOC emissions reduced significantly. The first tank, coated in 1996, was still performing in 2009 with only a topcoat refresh.
367.20 BTU conducted through bare metal plate → 3.99 BTU with one coat of Super Therm® at 7–8 mils (99% reduction).
39% utility-bill reduction with a 2.2-year payback.
96% total heat block confirmed
99% IR block; 92% total solar reduction.
When SP Texture Coating is top-coated with Super Therm®, the combined system gives a textured exterior wall both a decorative finish and solar-heat-blocking insulation in one assembly. That’s especially useful for homes and commercial buildings where you want the stucco look without the thermal penalty.

Trapped moisture in a wall causes mold, mildew, and substrate damage — particularly in humid climates like Hawaiʻi’s. A breathable finish lets vapor escape while keeping water out.
