Sunshield®

Solar Heat-Block Coating for Homes and Light Commercial

Sunshield®

What is Sunshield®?

Sunshield® is a single-component, water-based solar heat-reflective coating for residential and light-commercial use. It uses four ceramic compounds to block about 85% of solar heat and carries a roughly 10-year service life. It is the consumer-grade product derived from Super Therm® — easier on the budget, with similar everyday benefits for a home.
Sunshield® is not intended for heavy commercial or industrial use. For those applications, use Super Therm®.

uncoated metal too hot to touch; coated areas remained cool, with container interior reportedly “feeling like it had just been taken out of the refrigerator.”

Race trailer in Alabama:

10°F interior reduction on a 70°F ambient day.

Residential U.S.:

homeowners report their air conditioner cycles on far less often after application.

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Find answers to common questions about our services, processes, and how we work with clients across various industries.

No. Sunshield® is the consumer-grade product, blocking about 85% of solar heat with a ~10-year life. Super Therm® is the industrial flagship, blocking 99.5% of heat load with a 30+ year life.

No. It is a ceramic coating applied much thicker than paint, and it blocks heat rather than just adding color. The same coverage of paint would not deliver similar performance.

Sunshield® is designed to be more DIY-friendly than Super Therm®, but most homeowners get the best result by working with a coating professional — surface prep, primer choice, and film build all matter. Call us before you start.

No. Sunshield® is a one-product system for most residential roofs (with the right primer).
